Establishing a Lean Benchmark and Building Six Best Teams - Report on the Lean Team Evaluation Activity

A team is the most grassroots management organization of an enterprise, and also the fundamental unit at the forefront of production and operation. The quality of team work completion is directly related to the completion of various production indicators in the enterprise, so we must attach importance to team construction. In order to accelerate the pace of team building and innovate the reform mechanism of corporate culture construction, the Lean Office started promoting on-site "Lean Team Evaluation" activities in May 2017, and linked them to the performance of team leaders. The goal of team building is to gradually promote the standardization of work content indicators, work requirements, work steps, work assessment data, and work management system.
In the promotion of team construction, preliminary research is carried out, combined with the three-year plan for lean team construction. Starting from the aspects of team basic management, team building, and team leader capabilities, emphasis is placed on promoting on-site 5S work, and through lean evaluation, the team is promoted to improve and improve independently. Using monthly evaluations, rankings, and promotions to create an atmosphere, we expect every employee to become a responsible person, a promoter of innovation, and a practitioner of management, improving the overall quality of the team and enhancing the cohesion of the enterprise.
From the overall evaluation results, the evaluation scores of each team show an upward trend, with the average score increasing from 34 points in May to 54 points in July. A group of excellent teams have emerged who are proactive, have a strong atmosphere for improvement, and are down-to-earth and hardworking. In previous evaluations, they have been well reflected in the C line of the stamping workshop, the comprehensive team of the logistics department, and the K2 adjustment line team of the welding and assembly workshop.
At present, although our team construction level has improved, there is still a certain gap from our annual goal. The next step is to strengthen the cultivation of the comprehensive abilities of team leaders, focus on promoting team efficiency improvement projects, take fundamental production plans as the primary goal, enable employees to improve production efficiency without increasing workload, and ensure that team construction is not divorced from reality or roots.
The nine story platform starts from the foundation. Team building is not only the fundamental work of our lean promotion, but also the need for our car body company to participate in market competition and enhance core competitiveness. Only outstanding teams can support the safe, stable, sustainable, and healthy development of enterprises, and stand invincible in the fierce market competition for a long time.
